Amigo Bravos

The Range Rider Water Quality Protection project is a creative and collaborative approach to protecting water quality in the Wetland Jewels ecosystem. Starting in the summer of 2025, Amigo Bravos will begin more large-scale restoration in the area. The objectives of the Range Rider Water Quality Protection Project are to conduct one year of cattle grazing oversight by hiring 1-3 Range Riders; coordinate with the Forest Service, grazing permittees, and contractors; and coordinate with the Forest Service to identify one or more new wetland systems that would benefit from utilizing the Range Rider Program in the future.

Conservation Voters New Mexico (CVNM)
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $8,000

Located just west of Santa Fe, the Caja del Rio Plateau is one of the most biologically significant land areas in New Mexico, providing critical habitat for the area’s abundant wildlife that roam the grasslands and canyons. This vulnerable area faces numerous threats. CVNM’s goal is to garner National Monument status, which would bring additional funding and protections and create a codified management strategy between the Bureau of Land Management and USFA. This process must include the voices of the Puebloan communities to which this area is sacred.

Hawks Aloft, Inc.
Albuquerque, New Mexico / $5,000

Hawks Aloft works to conserve wild indigenous birds through conservation education, avian research, raptor rescue, and collaboration with other community organizations. Recent funds were used to build a large, two-chamber flight cage suitable for eagle rehabilitation. We also improved several of our other flight cages and were licensed by the USDA. Our raptor rescue program continues to expand, and we need a larger facility to accommodate the increased number of patients. Consequently, we will be able to provide better care, reduce stress, and improve outcomes for our patients.

College & Career Plaza (CCP)

Public high schools in Northern New Mexico face significant challenges in providing the college access and career development support that students need to thrive after graduation. CCP partners with high schools to fill this gap by delivering dedicated, on-site college and career guidance. Serving primarily Native and Hispanic students, CCP provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where students are encouraged to broaden their perspectives, plan their futures, and develop step-by-step pathways to achieve their post-graduation goals. This support is offered through one-on-one appointments, walk-ins, and targeted programming.

Communities in Schools of New Mexico (CISNM)
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $15,000

Children living in poverty are five times more likely to drop out of school. They may arrive hungry, poorly clothed, or traumatized, but are still expected to engage and learn. Schools cannot effectively provide the complex support these students need without community involvement. CISNM places full-time, bilingual Student Success Facilitators in public schools to provide the resources, guidance, and support that ensure all students can succeed regardless of their family's socioeconomic status. CISNM uses data-driven methods to adjust support to evolving needs, ensuring that program goals and shifting student needs are met.

Indigenous Futures 4EVER (IF4)
Santa Fe, New Mexico / $10,000

There is a lack of sustainable funding, support and representation for the next generation of indigenous creatives, leaders, and change makers. Fostering a sustainable path forward for young indigenous people is imperative to supporting indigenous culture and futurism today and in the future. IF4 empowers by providing media exposure, collaborative opportunities, and resources across various disciplines, such as dance, music, fashion, art, spoken word and action sports. IF4 fosters interdisciplinary creativity and helps participants build professional networks. IF4 is creating a space for Indigenous excellence and driving positive change in industries that have historically excluded them.
